• Ta’ Klula Foundation of Santa Lucija will be holding its tradional Light Festival at the village main square on Saturday at 6.45pm. Girls in long white gowns and a red sash and wearing a crown with lit candles will light a bonfire in the main square and walk in a procession to the village church to pay homage to St Lucy. • The Gozo Padre Pio prayer groups are holding an Advent retreat at Our Lady of Graces Sanctuary in Victoria next Sunday. National director Fr Alfred Scerri, OFM Cap., will celebrate Mass at 9am. After a short coffee break, Fr Daniel Scerri, rector of the Gozo Seminary, will deliver a talk on St Pio. Dinner will be held at the friary’s refectory.
• The Nadur council is holding a concert by ABBA Gold (tribute band) on December 19, at L-Arċipriet Martin Camilleri Square (Il-Pjazzetta). The concert will start with the participation of Cash and Band at 7.30pm. In case of bad weather, the concert will be held at MBC Theatre in Nadur. Entrance is free.
• The Għaqda Armar Festa San Ġorġ, in collaboration with the management of the Astra Theatre, will be organising Miliedfest at the Astra Theatre on December 22 at 8pm. The show will feature La Stella Philharmonic Band, Laudate Pueri choir, Centre Stage Dance Academy, The Power House, Dance Cradle and La Stella Children, Youths and Adults Theatre Company. • Maltese Christmas traditions will be organised by Heritage Malta for children at its area office, the Citadel, Victoria, on December 22 between 9am and noon. The event will include crib-making using recycled material.
