Seven years ago, the management of Magro Brothers in Gozo had the privilege of a royal visit by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip. On that day, managing director, John Magro, pledged that all new delicacies created by the Savineurs at Savina would be sent to the Prince in remembrance of his visit and the special ties that exist between the Royal Family and Malta.
This year, Prince Philip was presented with air-dried sausages, made with 100 per cent shoulder pork and spiced with coriander and coarse, ground, fresh peppercorns; Il-Pekorin, a flavoured cheese matured for more than 90 days; Onion Chutney, made with caramelised onions and sea salt flakes; Maltese galletti (water-biscuits) and Larinġina, a traditional Mediterranean liqueur made from orange peel, the finest alcohol and natural spices.
These hampers are available by special request by calling 2156 2236 or 7956 2236.
