Ferrari’s most powerful and fastest car graced Maltese roads yesterday, alongside one of its supercar siblings, a Corvette ZR1.
Both cars are in Malta for tomorrow’s Paqpaqli għall-Istrina motoring event, which will see more than 1,300 models and F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, with his McLaren Mercedes car, gather at Lufthansa Technik’s hangar at Malta Inter-national Airport.
The €250,000 F12 Berlinetta has won multiple awards since its launch this spring, including being crowned BBC Top Gear Supercar of the Year.
Its V12 engine takes you from a standstill to 120 miles an hour in just 8.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 miles an hour.
Not that the Corvette’s ZR1, also Chevrolet’s fastest car, is any slouch: its 638-horsepower engine will lift it from zero to 60 miles an hour in 3.5 seconds, a shade slower than the Ferrari but still enough to amaze.
Blink, and you’ll miss them.
