MIA welcomes 3.5 millionth passenger
Malta International Airport today welcomed its 3,500,000 passenger for this year - 14-year-old Flaminia Iannone, who arrived on Air Malta flight KM613 from Rome at 12.25pm.
Ms Iannone was welcomed at MIA’s La Valette Lounge by MIA and Malta Tourism Authority CEOs Markus Klaushofer and Josef Formosa Gauci, respectively.
Mr Klaushofer said MIA estimated that MIA would end the year with a record number of passenger movements, the fourth record year in the last five years.
Ms Iannone was presented with a gift to mark the occasion.
