It is worth supporting a political party if its policy is to sustain and improve the people’s quality of life. This is why the overwhelming majority of Nationalist Party councillors decided to elect Simon Busuttil as the new deputy leader. His name is synonymous with a revitalising change in this country.

As Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi rightly said: “I am proud I could present two brilliant candidates for this contest, which ended elegantly.” This experience made Nationalists proud to be Nationalists and the Maltese proud to be Maltese.

While Tonio Fenech excels in his performance, Busuttil has substantial national backing to bring to life his PN vision with a European dimension based on the principle of unity within diversity. It is always advantageous to society to have people of such calibre at the top.

Another case in point is Gonzi’s success in producing results such as consolidating what had been achieved, rising above local and international crises, which led to a significant loss of jobs and cuts in social benefits in many European countries but not in Malta.

Equally thanks to Gonzi, all Maltese are enjoying the Presidency of another distinguished personality, George Abela.

Given the above, one can understand why the PN councillors elected Busuttil, who promised to continue to help renewing this great party with the best policies for the people.
