Paid-up members of the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin will benefit from round the clock home assistance emergency repair service from January 1.

The benefits come after the union signed an agreement with Laferla Insurance Agency Limited and Middlesea Assist.

Members are entitled to assistance with sudden breakdown or damage to piping, leaks from sanitary fixtures and fittings and fixed water installations, complete failure of electrical supply.

Members may also request help to secure their home after the glazing of external windows or doors is broken, key are stolen or locks damaged as a result of theft or accident.

Laferla Insurance Agency Limited general manager Robert Baldacchino explained the company has been providing its services to the union since 2000. General secretary Josef Vella explained members will begin to benefit from this service when they receive their 2013 membership fee.

The agreement was also signed by Alfredo Munoz Perez, Middlesea Assist chairman, at Laferla’s Valletta office.
