• Consumers should be informed about their right to change their mind during the cooling-off period and must also be informed how they can exercise this right.

• Doorstep sellers must leave the consumers’ house or workplace if asked to do so, otherwise they will be guilty of an offence and will be liable to a fine up to €1,165.

• Door-to-door sales must be finalised in writing, a copy of which should be given to consumers once the sale is concluded.

• Doorstep sellers should carry their licence as door-to-door sellers and the particulars of the authority that issued the licence.
