Auxiliary Bishop Charles Scicluna has been appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as a member of the Church’s Congregation of the Doctrine of Faith.

The members are cardinals and bishops who worked in the Vatican or in dioceses around the world. They meet several times a year – always on a Wednesday – to discuss important matters about the Church’s doctrine and to decide the neediest cases to be presented to the congregation.
