Forum welcomes budget
Forum is pleased that the budget presented yesterday included several of its proposals but complained about the increase in fuel tax.
In a statement this morning it said praised the adjustment in tax bands, the introduction or continuation of various environmental friendly measures, the special consideration given to Airmalta, the revision of pensions, the increase in child care centres in industrial areas, educational incentives and the increase in children allowances.
However, it said the increase in fuel tax should have never been introduced especially when the price of fuel was being periodically increased throughout the year.
Considering all measures, Forum considered the budget to be a positive one which should reduce the hardships on Maltese families and develop better jobs in the country.
