Adriano: Shakhtar Donetsk forward Luiz Adriano has been banned for one Champions League match for his controversial goal against Denmark’s Nordsjaelland, UEFA confirmed yesterdayu. The Brazilian striker will miss their final group game at home to Juventus for “violation of the principles of conduct” in last week’s game at the Danish side.

Emenike: Turkish prosecutors yesterday called for a three-year prison term for Nigerian international Emmanuel Emenike after he was implicated in a widespread match-fixing scandal. Lawyers in Istanbul accused Emenike, who currently plays for Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League, of faking an injury to avoid playing for his then club Karabukspor against Fenerbahce in May 2011.

Cabaye: Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has undergone groin surgery in Paris. The Magpies have confirmed the 26-year-old France international has had an operation to repair the damage which has sidelined him since the 1-0 Premier League defeat by West Ham on November 11. Cabaye, who has made 13 appearances for the club in all competitions this season, will be out of action for several weeks.

Dinamo: After a disastrous Champions League campaign Dinamo Zagreb on Monday sacked their coach Ante Cacic and replaced him with Krunoslav Jurcic, who was himself previously sacked for a similar reason a year ago. The 43-year old Jurcic coached Dinamo in 2008-2009, as well as from May-December 2011, when he was sacked after a 7-1 home defeat to Lyon in the Champions League.

Ben Yedder: France prospect Wissam Ben Yedder will appeal his ban from all national teams until January 2014 for an unauthorised night out while on U-21 duty despite admitting his mistake. The 22-year-old, the French top flight’s second top scorer with nine goals, is the second of five players who spent a night at a Paris club to appeal after France midfielder Yann Mvila.
