The Police Force remembered its departed members with Mass celebrated by Gozo police chaplain Mgr Emanuel Curmi at Santa Marija Cemetery chapel in Victoria last Sunday.

Flowers were placed on the graves by various members of the police, relatives and Wiġi Dimech, Gozo representative of the Maltese Association of Retired Police Officers.

Sue-Ellen Bugeja, wife of former PC1425 Jesmond Bugeja, who passed away at a young age last year, read a poem and placed flowers on the graves.

The celebration ended with the Last Post and a minute’s silence was observed.

Attending the ceremony were Police Commissioner John Rizzo, Assistant Commissioner Raymond Zammit, Gozo Superintendent Simon Galea, Inspectors Bernard Spiteri and Frank Tabone, police cadets, representatives of police organisations and relatives.
