The Strickland Foundation recently launched a journalism internship scheme whereby it will sponsor six candidates to work in media companies to promote journalism and public interest on two specific subjects: voluntary organisations and human rights.

Candidates should preferably be graduates interested in taking up a career in journalism or have the potential to take up such a career.

The interns will work in media companies involved in the publication of national newspapers and/or magazines and specialised publications, or in the production of news programmes for television and/or radio, or in the running of news electronic sites, or sites belonging to news and information organisations.

The sponsorship will be for one calendar year and the foundation will provide up to €15,000 per year per candidate. The foundation is sponsoring six internships in the first year.

Details on the scheme may be obtained from the foundation. Applications, together with a CV, are to be sent to the Chief Executive Officer, The Strickland Foundation, 36, Villa Parisio, Mabel Strickland Street, Lija LJA 1104 or by e-mail to admin@thestricklandfoundation.com by December 7.
