Product Safety Officers from the Technical Regulations Division within the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority have removed the following Halloween costumes from the market: Mystic Witch Children’s Costume for children aged four to six and Horror Life Witch Silver Cobweb costumes for children aged six or under.

The costumes have strings in the neck area prohibited in all clothing for children aged under seven. These strings pose a serious risk of strangulation if they become entangled with larger fixed products, such as playground or home equipment.

Consumers who have bought these costumes should refrain from using them and return them to the retailer. Sellers should remove these products from the market and return them to their supplier.

Enforcement action will be taken with retailers who place these products on the market.

Call the Technical Regulations Division on 2395 2000 or e-mail helpdesk.msa@msa.org.mt.
