A 35-year-old man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend and breaking her nose.

Ivan Mula, 32, from Żejtun pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring his partner, stealing her chequebook and causing damage at her home.

Magistrate Carol Peralta granted him bail against a €500 deposit and a personal guarantee of €4,500 on condition he does not approach his girlfriend.
