The second stage in the Autumn Series of races, organised by clubs affiliated to the Malta Cycling Federation, was held on Sunday on the Salina-Baħar ic-Cagħaq Coast Road circuit.

This stage was a 20-kilometre individual time-trial, with Birkirkara St Joseph Sports Club the hosts.

In the men’s race, Etienne Bonello, of Team Greens, was unchallenged, winning the race in 27 minutes, 32 seconds.

James Mifsud, also of Team Greens, was second in 28 minutes, 29 seconds, while David Galea, of The Cyclist, finished third in 28 minutes, 58 seconds.

Birkirkara St Joseph’s Michelle Vella Wood carried the honours in the women’s race in 31 minutes and 57 seconds.

Second place went to Marie Claire Aquilina (Team Greens) in 32 minutes, 22 seconds, with Caroline Zammit, of Agones Orchid, claiming the other place on the podium.

The other categories were won by Erika Spiteri Bailey (girls U-12), Isaac Spiteri (boys U-12), Martina Sciberras (girls U-15), Kurt Muscat (boys U-15), Em-manuel Camilleri (O-60), Nicky Farrugia (O-50) and Peter Gatt (O-40).

The final race in the series will be hosted by The Cyclist Club next Sunday.
