Brazil’s talisman Falcao had earlier forced the game into extra time with a late equaliser which stung Spain, who had looked set for victory after two second-half strikes from Aicardo and Torras.

Morgans: Former Manchester United winger and survivor of the 1958 Munich air disaster Kenny Morgans has died aged 73. Morgans was taken ill on Saturday and later passed away in hospital. The Welshman made his debut for United against Leicester on December 21, 1957 at the age of 18. He was injured when the plane carrying United home from a European Cup tie in Belgrade crashed on Feb. 6, 1958 after a refuelling stop at Munich, killing 23 of the 44 people on board.

Stroppa: Pescara head coach Giovanni Stroppa has resigned in the aftermath of yesterday’s 1-0 Serie A defeat at Siena. The Abruzzo outfit had two men sent off after Francesco Valiani scored the only goal of the game to condemn promoted Pescara to their eighth defeat of the season.

Barcelona: Barcelona centre-back Marc Bartra will miss tomorrow’s Champions League Group G match at Spartak Moscow after damaging a muscle in his right leg in training, Barca said yesterday. The 21-year-old youth academy graduate will be out for between 15 and 20 days.

Watson: Wigan midfielder Ben Watson suffered a broken leg in his side’s 3-0 Premier League defeat at Liverpool on Saturday. “It is a broken leg and we will see the extent of the break and what treatment he needs,” Wigan manager Roberto Martinez told reporters after the former England Under-21 international challenged for a high ball with Raheem Sterling.
