The training grounds at St Aloysius College and Infetti, both in Birkirkara, will be the venues of a special tournament for nursery teams next month.
On Sunday, December 16, the Malta Community Chest Fund, in conjunction with EuroSport and under the patronage of the President of Malta George Abela, will play hosts to the second edition of l-Istrina EuroSport Football Nursery Fun Event.
As happened last year, the football festival, which adopts a non-competitive format, will focus on encouraging children to dedicate some of their time in aid of those in need.
For this year’s edition all participating nurseries within the Youth FA, from the Under 9 age group downwards, have been invited to participate.
The EuroSport Football Nursery Fun Event organisers are targeting to have more than 300 young players involved. If the objective is reached that would mean an increase of around a 100 players more from last year.
The two venues to host the charity event next month will have seven different pitches for various activities including skill tests. A series of indoor events are also being planned.
A special certificate, signed by President Abela, and a commemorative medal for the occasion will be distributed to all participants at a presentations ceremony that wraps up the event.
In a statement, EuroSport said their commitment towards l-Istrina will be kept once again this year with another substantial donation of €10,000.
