Mark Borth at least when we had the rickety old buses we use to have a better and frequent service and cheaper too further more if the new buses will be still runing another 40 years from now there will be nothing left of them Arriva already lost half of the bendy buses as they became a night mare to ride in them so imagine what will happen what left of the others so don't kn what was an icon

The upper part of Old College Street, (in the heart of Sliema with all its tourists) is crying out for some attention.
Not even the potholes which have been there for ages where taken care of. And through this stretch, those who are responsible for this mess and should notice it pass through it daily.
Are we listening to the PEOPLE??

...and us Swieqi residents still have to put up with roads such as Triq il Keffa & triq il Qasam!!! Use these two roads in Swieqi and you will know what i mean... If you have a new car, after a year using these roads every day you car will end up like a runned down vehicle! Sham on our council, however i'm happy i didn't vote for the usual lot in out last election. Let's count sheep now shall we?

The road on the way from Foster Clark to bella vista there is a crater, should that open up it will lead to the inner core.
The road leading from near the ex Galaxy hotel in sliema to mrabat is like going up or down a flight of steps.please take notice.thanks.

I agree with you Peter it is a horrendous road more like driving on the surface of the Moon it should be re surfaced immediately as now it is being used frequently by the hospital Ambulances .

Thank God. That road was in shambles. Hopefully the road work will be up to standard and we won't see any potholes in Sliema Road for the next few months.

Some standard when you are expecting to see potholes AFTER the next few months !!

At last! Two years ago or whenever we did three quarters of it (half baked as usual) and the other part which was not done was totally abandoned with big craters. We could have at least filled those blessed holes.
Anyway thanks and next time please do " a complete job"

I think that besides the road leading from Triq Bella Vista to Mater Dei definitely needs resurfacing, may I also point out that there are 2 roads in Swieqi which also look lunar roads, namely Triq Marbat (the one entering Swieqi From Regional Road) as well as Triq il-Keffa just opposite the corner shop.

and after this one, I hope the road from Mater Dei to San Gwann Industrial Estate is done. I am 6 months pregnant and every time i pass from there, i feel like im going to vomit my baby. Same goes to Sliema rd, at last now i can pass from there!

Good luck! I'm not pregnant but know exactly how you feel. It is like a lunar landing every day going through those huge craters

This is the only good reason of Arriva, to fix the roads that are not good for this relic buses.

If the buses we have now are relics, what about the buses we had before?

How about the road leading from Triq Bella Vista, which has been recently resurfaced, down towards the San Gwann Industrial estate and leading to Mater Dei?
I understand it is not just a resurfacing job, as the road seems to have caved in due to the excessive weight of the trucks passing from there, but a large amount of private vehicles use it daily too.
