President and Mrs George Abela visited Maltese patients receiving treatment in the UK.

Accompanied by staff from the Malta Community Chest Fund and L-Istrina Production Team, Dr and Mrs Abela visited Great Ormond Street Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, King’s College Hospital, the Royal Marsden Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital and Capio Nightingale Hospital.

They also called on patients staying at the accommodation in Sutton owned by Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, as well as the Augustinian Sisters, Ursuline Sisters, Franciscan Sisters and Franciscan Fathers.

The President and Mrs Abela lodged with the Franciscan nuns in Victoria, where Maltese patients and their relatives who are sent to London for treatment are mainly housed.
