Monarch Airlines launches operations to Malta

Scheduled leisure airline, Monarch, has announced a route to Malta from East Midlands for summer from its newest base, East Midlands.

Flights will operate twice a week from May 7. They go on sale on Friday.

Monarch Airlines is a UK-based scheduled leisure airline operating from six bases in the UK - London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford and London Luton, where it is headquartered.

It operates flights to holiday destinations principally around the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands and to ski destinations in winter - including in Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Italy, Madeira, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.

Francis Sammut: Sir i hope you are still as happy after you have tried the 'new' Monarch experience - you may find there are a few differences in the standard since the last time you used them..
I've been using them for quite a while now specially on the Luton /Larnaca route but they have just become too expensive with all the add ons. Good luck with Monarch.

no ryan air doesn't but competition is needed for air malta and easyjet on that route

some time ago when Ryanair was negotiating with Manchester Airport a spokesman for the airport came on t.v. and said "Ryanair has made us an offer we COULD refuse, and we did!"

There's another route crying out for competition with AirMalta - Brussels. The prices on this route are nothing short of daylight robbery and from my experience the flights are always full.
