Maltese encouraged to test for diabetes

As the world celebrates World Diabetes Day today, Health Minister Joe Cassar this morning encouraged the Maltese to test for the condition, which one may be able to prevent by leading a healthy lifestyle.
Blood glucose can be monitored at any of the health centres in Malta and Gozo. This, the minister said, is a simple test which can be done in a few seconds and should be included in one’s annual doctor check-up.

very important to mention that a simple BG test with a Glucose monitor is not enough to say whether one has diabetes or not

During the last few days many medicals talked about diabetes but failed to indicate what should be the right reading when testing for the decease.

it should be between 4-6 millimoles
