Jibril visits PN headquarters

Libyans will never forget Malta’s contribution during their fight for freedom, Mahmoud Jibril said today.
He was speaking during a visit to the PN headquarters in Pieta.
Dr Jibril led Libya for seven and a half months as the head of the National Transitional Council.
He is now the leader of the National Forces Alliance, a coalition which gathers a number of Libyan political parties that favour civil democracy with laws based on a modern interpretation of Islam.
Dr Jibril met PN general secretary Paul Borg Olivier, who was accompanied by President Marthese Portelli and international secretary John Bonello.
He thanked the PN for the opportunity it gave the NFA to share ideas with a party whose history was among the oldest in the region.
On Thursday, he will be addressing the EPP Bureau Meeting in Malta.

The tragedy is that the minister responsible (that is the P.M.) is not even requesting that the Libyans should accept them back.

That is rich coming from Mr. Jibril. I work with them in Malta and my contract states that if one of their own demands my job I am out. I am basically a second class citizen and if they read this... But we have rights too! All they do is talk - air pollution. They also said illegal immigration would be something of the past - but is it?

Prove it!!! Talk comes easy. You can start by taking these irregulars back to your country right now!

I hope that the PN top brass explained how the PN vilified Libyans on a purely racist basis during the 1970s and 1980s before suddenly deciding to espouse them as "brothers" after the 1987 General Election. Hypocrites - not in this Christian Democrat stronghold, surely?

Il-Libjani meta ser ikunu serji u jghinu lil malta billi jwaqqfu lil klandestini milli jitilqu min arthom ? Fir-rivoluzzjoni li kellhom Malta hadet riskji enormi imma il-klandestini baqghu gejjin mil Libja,
Mhux li jigu hawn biss imma jigu b'risoluzzjonijiet serji.

“Libyans will never forget Malta’s contribution during their fight for freedom, Mahmoud Jibril said today." Fine. Will they now stop the exodus of boat people from sub-Saharan Africa towards our island home?

Talk is cheap, Dr Jibril knows of our problems re illegal immigration, he should offer to take back any illegal immigrants that make it to our shores from Libya

Did he promise action against the outflow of illegal immigrants from Libya?

Maybe Dr Jibril can start paying us back by stopping the influx of illegal immigrants departing from Libya to come to Malta. Now that would really be appreciated and and a way of showing real gratitude. Talk is very cheap.

I think the Libyans have already forgotten Malta's contribution. We have been flooded with illegal immigrants from Libya. We want action not rhetoric.
