The seventh edition of Paqpaqli Għall-Istrina, organised by The Malta Community Chest Fund, Tonio Darmanin and other volunteers, will be held on December 9.

This is the fourth time the event will be held at the Malta International Airport and Lufthansa Technik.

One of this year’s highlights of this year’s charity car show will be a visit by Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. The Formula One car he drove last year will also be on display.

Mr Hamilton will also be driving a few hot laps in a Mercedes sports car. The Sunday Times is currently running a competition which will enable one lucky reader to join him on one of the laps.

Mr Hamilton will be in Malta as part of Vodafone’s Raise Your Game initiative. The company has teamed up with Mercedes, PBS and The Times.

Other attractions include the latest super car Ferrari F12 Berlinetta launched at the Geneva motor show and international motorbike stunt rider Angyal Zoltan. The F12 Berlinetta will also challenge an Air Malta aircraft on the taxi way.

Paqpaqli Għall-Istrina will be held between 9am and 3.30pm. Entrance will be €10 for adults and €2 for children under 12 years, and all proceeds will go towards L-Istrina 2012. Tickets can be bought from San Anton Palace, all Vodafone outlets or www.ooii.com.mt. A shuttle service will transport people from the designated car parks to the event.
