Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will on Saturday inaugurate the new tombstone where Bishop Emeritus Nikol Cauchi is buried at the Gozo Cathedral in Victoria.

The tombstone was designed by Alfred Camilleri Cauchi and the marble work was carried out by Raymond Bonello.

The upper part of the monument consists of a sculpted lunette depicting the Visitation.

A bronze bust of the late bishop, also by Camilleri Cauchi, will form part of the tombstone.

The monument will be blessed by Mgr Grech after a concelebrated Mass for the repose of Mgr Cauchi’s soul at 6pm.
