Alert brings prepaid electronic solution
Alert Group managing director Claudine Cassar launched the Paysafecard service last Monday.
Alert Group introduced the Paysafecard to the local market last Monday after being appointed sole distributor for the leading electronic payment solution in Europe.
Paysafecard is a secure electronic payment method, based on a cash prepayment. Users top up their balance in authorised stores and are issued with a 16-digit PIN to make online payments.
No bank account information, no credit card information and no personal details need to be disclosed to finalise a transaction, ensuring full confidentiality and security as no personal and financial information is ever at risk online.
Payments using Paysafecard can be made in more than 3,500 authorised online shops and entertainment sites worldwide. The paysafecard network in Malta is growing daily, and users may purchase PINs from various stores.
Paysafecard was launched at an event inaugurated by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech. Paysafegroup director Udo Müller gave a presentation on the solution’s applications and advantages.
The Paysafecard Group was founded in 2000 in Austria and Germany, and operates in 31 countries. Earlier this year, the group won the Paybefore Award for Best Digital Currency and the Paybefore Award Europe for Most Innovative Prepaid Solution.

The trouble with this kind of digital money is that very few normal stores or hotels accept them . Amazon and Ebay dont , nor any of the high street stores. They are however widely used in betting and porn online sites where full anonymity is highly desirable. At present the best bet is Mastercard prepaid cards for they limit your potential money and data loss and are accepted everywhere.
