Get ready for an intriguing collection of memorabilia from one of the best loved film franchises of all time. To celebrate James Bond’s 50th anniversary and the release of SkyFall in local cinemas, Euro Media Forum is organising an exhibition dedicated to all things James Bond.
The event, which is being organised in conjunction with Science is Culture and Eden Cinemas, includes a variety of images and posters depicting the most iconic moments from all James Bond films.
From Ian Fleming’s first image of a mysterious spy sporting a shimmering black tuxedo, in his first novel Casino Royale (1953), to that timeless 007 insignia in 1962’s Dr No, to the return of the classic Aston Martin DB5 in this year’s SkyFall, Bond’s images have become an entrenched part of popular culture and he is arguably the most famous fictional character of the modern era.
The exhibition will span the whole half century of secret agent 007, with many of the exhibits being instantly recognisable and synonymous with the dapper secret agent. Thanks to the way it is set up, the exhibition also offers a detailed chronological journey of Bond’s most fantastic missions that have stood the test of time.
The exhibition is open until Saturday at the General Workers’ Union Memorial Building, South Street, Valletta. For more information call 9945 4066 or send an e-mail to euromediaforum@gmail.com. Entrance is free.
