my friend wardens are for parking tickets only, when we r going to understand this, that they only book people for income revenue.

This whole hideous episode might have been avoided in the first place, if the usual daily wardens, who prey in that area (St. James Hospital) were vigilant enough to observe strange movements by certain individuals. Instead of booking parked cars of which 99% of their owners would be visiting the said hospital.

Agree with you 100% Mr Scicluna. The wardens can do a more worthy job than just prey on some innocent drivers

That works out at 32 months with remission, which means 2yrs 8 months and not 4 years. A year in jail is 8 months.

That was really good we need more cameras in public places.

That was quick. Should be an effective deterrent to future muggers.

Well done the police force. Referring back to Tuesday's comments - not a "foreigner" after all!

Not sure what you mean by your comment. However, even I thought he was a foreigner, going by his looks. Not because Maltese people are less prone to commit crime, in case that is what you're implying other people were thinking!
In the film he did infact look foreign and some Maltese do look foreign afterall! So what? The whole aim was to identify the criminal, no?

He was only sent for four years because he admitted all those charges!!! I cannot understand why sentences are reduced if you admit your guilt!!!!!!!

Are the 4 years for his latest bravado or does that cover his other convictions mentioned here?
If that is for this one and all the rest, then it's a pretty short one, he deserves 4 years for the mugging alone!!
Wonder when the law courts are going to learn???

Excellent this is more like the deterrent sentences we need to cut down on violent crime in Malta, where the usual excuse is because of drugs.

I am delighted to admit that I was wrong on several counts:-
1. I expected this criminal to be an immigrant.
2. I expected he would receive a suspended prison sentence, probably ofsix months.
3. I thought the Judiciary had lost touch with society.

this is good news, now this guy can sit in his cell and reconsider doing this again!! also one would like to ask if while he is serving time would he be going through rehabiliting against the use of drugs?

And you know he is a drug user how? Do not recall seeing that written in any articles, but then I find most people do not read the facts of a news articles before beginning making lots of assumptions. Let not forget that the first article on this story stated that he was resident in Naxxar.
