Priests' appeal judgment put off
The appeal judgment in the child abuse case against two former priests has been put off to Tuesday. It was due to be handed down tomorrow.
Godwin Scerri and Charles Pulis (above) both members of the Missionary Society of St Paul, were sentenced to five and six years in prison respectively for sexually abusing boys in their care. They filed their appeal in June last year.
The appeal judgment has been put off three times, having originally been set for October 26, followed by last Friday, and tomorrow.

I hope that this saga will open the eyes of the RCChurch to wake up and allow priests to be married in line with the Bible command and pre-examined through psychological tests for their tendencies before they are ordained. The Orthodox Church does it. The thousands upon thousands of cases of abuse warrant this If this is not done the RCC is guilty of abuse and it will go on and on. Period

It is always a shocking news to learn that children have been abused or raped. It is one of the most gruesome and heinous crimes one can commit.
Everyone who abuses and rapes a child destroys the life of the child. Stricter laws are necessary to curb child abuse.
Children are innocent and precious and they need a safe environment to grow up.

Once again we see the genius in the Maltese judicial system:
Paedophile #1: Five years.
Paedophile #2: Six years.
Horticulturist: Over ten years and a 23,000 Euro fine.
