1,000-strong crowd patronise Twelve Steps

Around 1,000 spectators took part in this year’s interactive experience Twelve Steps held at the Citadel in Victoria by the local council over five consecutive Fridays.

Twelve Steps, which came to an end last Friday, is similar to the Gioco Spettacolo, which is popular in Tuscany.

This year some of the actors represented characters connected with the 125th anniversary of the raising of status of Rabat to a city, when it was renamed Victoria to honour Queen Victoria on her golden jubilee.

Victoria mayor Samuel Azzopardi, the promoter of this creative and innovative experience, said this concept should be adopted by other councils to enhance their localities’ cultural and touristic potential through active audience participation.
