ST’s Malta plant has been awarded first prize in the 2012 Health and Safety Best Practices Award organised by the national Occupational Health and Safety Authority and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.
ST Malta was also selected to represent Malta in the European Health and Safety competition for the highest standards and best practices.
Health Minister Joe Cassar and Network Manager for the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work Bogiarka Bola presented the award.
The company’s good practices were showcased by health and safety manager Silvana Bugeja, who highlighted the procedures, processes and programmes related to the deployment of its emergency response team, health and safety champions, environment, health and safety steering committee, employee suggestion scheme, health and safety training, health plan, and health and counselling clinic
ST Malta is also certified with the OHSAS18001 certification’s standards.
