Elmo Insurance has strength-ened its management structure by promoting three managers to senior posts.

Anthony Cauchi has been named senior manager for claims and personal lines, Christopher Cuschieri is now senior manager for commercial lines and re-insurance, and Alan Dimech has been named assistant senior manager for commercial lines and re-insurance.

Mr Cauchi has occupied various posts within Elmo Insurance’s personal lines department over the past 18 years. A chartered insurer, Mr Cauchi is following a Masters in Business Administration programme at the University of Malta.

Mr Cuschieri has a 22-year career at Elmo Insurance and possesses extensive knowledge in commercial and marine insurance. A chartered insurer, he is an engineering and construction insurance specialist.

Mr Dimech joined the company nine years ago and has concentrated on corporate client programmes. He will be assisting Mr Cuschieri within the commercial lines and re-insurance departments. He is also the risk and compliance manager responsible for co-ordinating the company risk management function, which includes compliance.

Mr Dimech is a chartered insurer and a member of the Institute of Risk Management. He is currently studying for an International Diploma in Risk Management.

“The insurance industry is going through tremendous change initiated by the introduction of far-reaching legislation which is to come into force in January 2014,” Elmo Insurance managing director David Bartoli said.

“It will definitely have an enormous impact on how the insurance industry functions and we are preparing actively for that scenario. An insurance company’s greatest asset is the quality of its human resources and succession planning is always a very delicate matter to deal with. We are fortunate to be in a position to promote a younger generation of managers to take over key positions.”
