Following their success in the Super Cup finals, La Salle’s teams have confirmed their status as strong contenders to win the MHA Cup in both categories.

In the men’s competition, all teams have played three matches. The biggest surprise so far came from Kavallieri RS2, currently second after beating Phoenix SMS Mondial and newcomers HMS Eurosport.

Aloysians Von Taine are also tied in second place with Kavallieri after two wins out of three.

Eurosport are enduring a difficult debut season after suffering three consecutive defeats. Injuries and inexperience have also hampered their efforts but they are hopeful of improving once the Second Divi-sion league gets underway.

Luxol Si Mangia and Phoenix have one victory from three matches.

Luxol surprised Kavallieri in their second outing but then succumbed to Aloysians and La Salle in their last two games.

Phoenix’s only win came against Eurosport as last season’s league runners-up have struggled for form so far.

At the top, La Salle BHS have extended their unbeaten run (including last season) to an impressive 20 matches, making them the no.1 candidates to land their second honour of the season.

In the women’s game, La Salle ZT Developments won their matches against Aloysians Żmerc and Luxol. The La Salle-Luxol match produced a nail-biting finale with the outcome only de-cided a few seconds from time.

Luxol have won two matches out of three, clearly maintaining their improvement from last season.

Phoenix Dolcino and Aloysians have three points each with the latter having a game in hand.

Despite not winning any matches in the pre-season competition so far, Kavallieri RS2 are a team full of young, talented players who have been giving their opponents a good run for their money.

More matches from the MHA Cup will be played this afternoon as teams continue to prepare for the National League.
