A total of 230 candid photographs of the Some Like It Hot star taken by bombshell’s friend Milton Green are going under the hammer at a fixed minimum of €72 each

Rare Marilyn Monroe photographs immortalising the American blonde bombshell will be auctioned on November 8 in Warsaw, an auction house in the Polish capital announced.

Poland’s state treasury obtained the candid shots of Monroe – taken by a friend, Milton Green – in a collection of nearly 4,000 photographs it received as part of a 1995 foreign debt settlement.

Monroe is snapped dressed in jeans fixing her lipstick and hair, eating a meal and coyly chatting on the phone in several photos.

The Some Like It Hot actress died on August 5, 1962, of a barbiturate overdose at her Los Angeles home.

The Dom Aukcyjny Desa Unicum auction house is placing a total of 240 photographs on offer in the November bidding, which will have a fixed minimum of €72 per photo. (AFP)
