Flooding in low-lying areas
Heavy rainfall caused flooding in low-lying areas overnight, particularly in Msida and Birkirkara, with members of the Civil Protection Department helping residents of some people whose homes flooded. Assistance was also given for flooding of garages in St Paul's Bay and Naxxar.
More rainfall is expected later in the day.

And we keep on building with all these empty flats, houses etc.
Good planning indeed.

Small suggestion: why doesn't the central government offer schemes that encourage urban gardening, e.g. roof top gardens, small trees in backyards, re-opening of the house cisterns etc.

Flow river flow.... Clean this country once and for all! We are too densely populated with little water cachments and no countryside to take the rain water. Hope that something will seriously be done as a long term measure to alleviate the sufferings and inconveniences that are becoming too frequent and at the same time cut on our water consumption bill as a nation and household expense.

perhaps one simple solution to return some countryside to this country is to cull the population i suppose

Could the relevant authority take the necessary action to immediately clear the large amount of stones and soil on the Kennedy Grove road, just where "Telgha t'Alla u Ommu" road exits? It is a very great hazhard to all drivers and an accident is likely to happen.

...and while they're at it, don't forget the rest of the nation. In particular debris along the major thoroughfares and potholes that have gone from bad to worse. Ix-xemx telghet, qum minn hemm Transport Malta!
