The Msida valley reservoir is a source of hazards and sanitary problems for residents in the area, the council said today.

Msida mayor Clifton Grima said the council is continuing to urge the Resources Ministry to clean up the place, which is a breeding ground for Asian Tiger mosquitoes.

Dr Grima said the reservoir often stank as sewage sometimes flowed in.

“The Resources Ministry needs to shoulder responsibility. All we are asking for is a regular upkeep of the reservoir,” he said.
