It must seem ironic that Robert H. Marks’s letter (October 17) was entitled “Distortion of history”, for his references to Manuel Dimech did this quite splendidly.

Since it is futile to go into details here, I suggest that Mr Marks acquire a copy of Dimech’s Aphorisms, which has been just published, and at least get his information right.
