Christian Bugeja, 21 of Marsaxlokk, was today accused in court of raping his 17-year-old girlfriend in Paceville.

He was also accused of escaping from St Julian's Police Station, holding his girlfriend against her will, defilement and sexual activity with a minor.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail against a deposit of €1,000 and a personal guarantee of €2,000.
