Youth for the Environment (Y4TE) has adopted a giant panda through the World Wildlife Fund following a campaign held during Freshers’ Week, during which students visiting the Y4TE stand were asked to vote for their preferred animal.

Y4TE has already adopted an Amur leopard and a sea turtle following adoption campaigns held in previous years.

There are fewer than 1,600 giant pandas left in the wild and the WWF works to help preserve their habitat and protect the remaining pandas from poaching, illegal logging and encroachment.
