A video by the Labour Party was blocked by YouTube because it infringed the latter’s rules.

PBS reported that the video contained footage from the its 50th anniversary video, edited to change the meaning of what was said by PBS editor Natalino Fenech in an interview.

It said it reported the video to YouTube, because while in the original interview, Dr Fenech was giving the context of how news was produced, the PL manipulated his statement to be understood that he did not believe in balance.

Dr Fenech is filing a libel suit about the production.

PL'S REACTION

In a reaction, the PL said it was getting used to PBS censoring it but for the station to try to censor a YouTube clip was unheard of in a democracy.

“This amounts to blatant censorship,” it said adding that it would be seeking legal advice about the matter.
