Thunder, rain and strong winds
As strong winds took over the island and rain started to pelt, reader Danica Vella submitted the above photo taken in Gharghur.
And it was not only humans who sought shelter, Ann Marie Sant used her camera to shoot at swallows in Attard as they took refuge from the elements.
Malta Airport's Meteorological Office's report for today says that the weather will be partly to rather cloudy with isolated showers.
It says that a trough of low pressure from Algeria to the central Mediterranean will persist.

Latest satellite pictures (16.45pm) show a concentration of cloud is covering the central Mediterranean particularly Malta and Sicily! This is slowly shifting in the direction of Greece but a rather slow pace. Thunderstorms and rain are forecast through to tomorrow but that is....a forecast! Looks pretty concentrated though!

It was raining quite a bit in Mosta but looks like it passed now and broken clouds are on their way.
