PL billboard direct reply to PN's

The Labour Party this morning launched a billboard with the message that Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi is just talk and no action Gonzi Jpacpac Biss.

The billboard is a direct reply to the one launched by the PN yesterday portraying Opposition leader Joseph Muscat covering his mouth and saying Muscat says nothing.

In a statement, Labour said that Dr Gonzi was capable of saying a lot. He said a lot before and after the election and he was still talking.

But all he had to show for it was a list of broken promises, including jobs at Smart City, reducing the income tax and a budget surplus.

The PL said that families and businesses were fed up with the politicians of the past, such as Dr Gonzi, who spoke a lot but left behind a track-record of broken promises.

are you serious? The PM hasn't kept that promise. The PM himself said that it was an electoral promise that he could not keep due to the economic situation! So how do you come off saying that the income tax ceiling has been modified in every budget?

You forgot that in the last budgets, year after year, Gonzi has raised the income tax ceiling. Smart City has opened the first few businesses. Don't forget that PL were not that enthusiastic about it! PL have been talking since 1998!

Good one Mark!
Pity you didn't give us your view on Labour's proposals.................because there are none!
LABOUR WON'T WORK.

Mr Borg, the last Labour government was so good in keeping his promises, that they have been in opposition since 1998! It seem that the Maltese electorate think different than you do. Election after election they have chosen PN, nbot MLP/talk.

Then trust PL, and hope that they don't bungle everything in 22 months! Don't forget, that Gonzi has been through party turbulence, credit crunch, immigration problems, and other difficulties. BUT HE IS STILL THERE. Your last MLP government toppled on the first hurdle! And you trust PL? Many of those who formed THAT government ARE STILL THERE.

That's true, Joe Muscat ' SAID ' so much! Saying is one thing, DELIVERING is another! Among these, we have the highest employment rate in Europe, to start with. MLP have been talking for 15 years. Watching and criticising from the fence is easier than ruling a country when all around us bigger countries are foundering.

You got it wrong Miss/Mrs Grima. In 2008 Tonio Fenech said recession won't touch us: he was right, with those 500 euros a week he netted he won't feel the pain that is eating through our families!

Mark Borg

Your beloved PM also promised peace of mind, a safe pair of hands, transparency in government, meritocracy, a new form of politics, 6000 new jobs at Smart City.... Some consolation having him tell of impending international storm! Perhaps after the next general elections he should consider becoming a meteorologist.

@ MARK BORG,
Yes , peace of mind. That's why we have one of the lowest unemployment figures in the EU.

@A Spiteri...100% in agreement. The negative campaign being used by both parties is indeed disheartening. When the only way one tries to look good is by attacking his opponent, then it become obvious that there is nothing positive to convey about one's own attributes. What the voters want to hear is..how are you going to make our lives better.

ALBERT FENECH

Oct 13th 2012, 15:48

Fair enough Mr Maurice Agius - let's have a Kiddies Party enter politics and end up with a Government the average age of which would be, say 25 or 26? Dare I say that your comment is pronouncedly childish?

better a kiddies party than the Mintoffian ministers of the 80's. Kiddies would let you eat chocolate would they?

Fully agree. Why don't they tell us that they have met and taken a conjoined decision to tackle the major problems that are going to erode our country?

2 Pensions
3 Stipends system review
4 accountability on all mis management.
