PL billboard direct reply to PN's
The Labour Party this morning launched a billboard with the message that Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi is just talk and no action Gonzi Jpacpac Biss.
The billboard is a direct reply to the one launched by the PN yesterday portraying Opposition leader Joseph Muscat covering his mouth and saying Muscat says nothing.
In a statement, Labour said that Dr Gonzi was capable of saying a lot. He said a lot before and after the election and he was still talking.
But all he had to show for it was a list of broken promises, including jobs at Smart City, reducing the income tax and a budget surplus.
The PL said that families and businesses were fed up with the politicians of the past, such as Dr Gonzi, who spoke a lot but left behind a track-record of broken promises.

Why don't the two main parties just put up two billboards from now until the election: DID NOT! and DID TOO!
It would save a lot of money.

It's amazing: GonziPN only talk, and yet they have been in government since 1998! It seems that the Maltese think differently than what this board suggests! If PN only talk, they wouldn't have won every election since the last MLP government bungled everything in 22 months! Creating a billboard takes some creativity, creating jobs takes guts. Malta has the highest employment rate in Europe.

How ironic of PL! As usual, sheer talk. And what have PL been doing since 1998? Just talking. And promising!
They say that there was no change in income tax, as promised. Budget upon budget Gonzi has been modifying the income tax ceiling. But it seems that PL are too busy with their billboards to have noticed. And gradually, Smart City is starting to take shape. It takes time, you know!

Absolutely pathetic! Similar to the billboard regarding the Divorce issue. This reads '' Gonzi says NO while

favour of divorce was passed. Scraping the barrel and stooping at everything in their quest to besmirch PN!

You forgot that in the last budgets, year after year, Gonzi has raised the income tax ceiling. Smart City has opened the first few businesses. Don't forget that PL were not that enthusiastic about it! PL have been talking since 1998!

Isn't it just ridiculous for grown ups from both political parties to have to resort to in such a childish manner to send their message to the electorate. And all those ugly faces staring down and distracting one when driving along are not going to impress anyone either.

Oct 13th 2012, 17:48
Isn't it ridiculous to compare the performance of both parties? There is a yawning gulf between the two. All right-minded people who have lived in Malta during the past five decades can vouch for that, billboards are superfluous. And it sure proves one thing; that there is lots and lots of money around.

Dr. G is singing PAROLE, PAROLE, PAROLE. How many times didn't he keep his word in the past 8 years, sometimes even proving that he was showering lies. On the other hand "Joseph Muscat my jghid xejn" tells that PN has put a muzzle on members of the house by keeping them away from iy for months on end. On the other hand Joseph Muscat said so much regarding change and progress for the common good

That's true, Joe Muscat ' SAID ' so much! Saying is one thing, DELIVERING is another! Among these, we have the highest employment rate in Europe, to start with. MLP have been talking for 15 years. At least Gonzi had the guts to tell us that an International storm was ahead before the 2008 elections whilst PL and Muscat decided to keep their mouth SHUT!! PN and PL have invaded our roads, pavements (also ramps for disabled people) with 200 illegal billboards for past 10 months. Each billboard normally costsaround 1200 euros per month rental. Normal persons would pay for 200 billboards for 10 months sum of 2 mllion and 400,000 euros in rental. Each poster costs 250 euros. Yesterday GonziPN "spent" 50000 euro, today MuscatPL 50,000. Who's paying?

We need a Maltese Spring and do away with the joke of a political system we have in Malta. All those international problems, and we have two parties boxing each other instead of taking care of their people.... what matters? as long as they keep driving duty free luxury cars, are income tax exempt, and take a fat pension when they retire.... rubbish.... I'm sorry for my country.

MLP/PL must be living on the moon or somewhere else.
Dr Gonzi has changed Malta from the MLP/PL era from a third world country to a civilized modern island.
Ok PN is not perfect but perhaps we can leave that for Dr Muscat. We already had a foretaste of his politics.
We leave words to MLP/PL rather since now in democratic Malta that is possible and they are very good at it.

This is the most ridiculous campaign I have ever come across. Both the PN and the PL are engaging in a negative campaign targeting the leaders.
