A 43-year-old man from St Paul's Bay has been jailed six years for last Thursday's hold-up on Super Gold Jewellery of Pioneers Road, Bugibba.

Hope other cases in the future will be solved, and justice will be done in short time like this time. Thumbs up for all.

This was fast - prosit.
The reason - the man pleaded guilty.
I would give double the jail term for those people who do not plead guilty even though they are.
Thumbs up to all the police for their fast work, and even to the justice.

You cannot do that!
The law is the law is the law!
You cannot penalize someone for pleading not guilty! Presumption of innocence is a fundamental human right, and one should not be intimidated against using it!

I agree. You only double the sentence if found guilty by a trial jury.

Well done to the Police but wasn't it reported that the thief was a British man? Also why can cases like this be resolved so quickly yet it takes a great many years for other cases to be brought to court?

Some people get convicted and sentenced to go to prison and yet they are allowed to stay on the outside because their appeal is still pending. That appeal might be pending for the next twenty years. Maybe this man can receive the same courtesy? NOT.

Well done to our police force on a quick and efficient capture of this criminal six years is not enough though maybe 10 years would make him think twice when he gets out again
