Juventus manager Antonio Conte, serving a four-month ‘Calcio-scommesse’ match-fixing ban, is facing a fresh investigation for allegedly questioning the reputation of Italian sporting legal authorities.

The charge relates to comments Conte made at a press conference when he “called into question the impartiality of decisions taken by the Federal Prosecutor,” the Italian Football Federation’s disciplinary commission announced yesterday.

He had called the August 23 press conference following confirmation of his ban for failing to disclose knowledge of match-fixing during his time as coach of Siena.

He was initially suspended for ten months, reduced on appeal last week to four months.

Conte has always denied the charge that he was aware that the match between his then team Siena and Albinoleffe on May 29, 2011, was fixed. He can resume his place on the Juventus dug out on December 8.
