Gasan Zammit Motors merger gets green light

Malta’s second largest importer, created through the strategic merger of the automotive and marine businesses of the Gasan and Zammit Groups has been approved by the Office for Competition.

The newly formed company, Gasan Zammit Motors Limited, is starting operations on November 1 from the Gasan Centre in Mrieħel. The premises will showcase a portfolio of brands including Ford, Honda, Mazda, Chevrolet, Jaguar, Volvo, Isuzu, Yamaha, Capelli and Pirelli.

“We are delighted with this latest development which effectively gives us the green light to start operations next month,” stated Joseph Gasan and Joseph Zammit, directors of the newly formed GasanZammit Motors Limited.

“Initial reactions to our merger announcement in August were positive,” Mr Gasan and Mr Zammit said this week. “Consumers are viewing this merger as an opportunity as they expect to benefit from the synergies created by the merger. As industry key players we will be building on achievements and experience to offer an even more extensive range of products and services at more advantageous terms.”
