Bugatti among sports cars in Malta for Mdina grand prix
Eight gleaming Bugatti sports cars from the 1920s and 30s as well as a host of other classic cars were ferried to the Hilton this morning in preparation for this weekend's Mdina grand prix.
People stared in amazement or took pictures as the historic vehicles were unloaded from large transporters having arrived from France and the UK.
They also included three Jaguars of different types, a PR3 a rare Anglia set up for racing, a Porche 356 Speedster and a tiny Fiat 500 Giannini
Many of the cars can be seen on the road on Thursday and Friday when they will be driven from the Hilton to Mtahleb and Mdina in a carcade leaving at 9 a.m.
The Mdina Grand Prix, organised by the Valletta Grand Prix Foundation, will be held over the weekend and will feature a record 70 cars.
A hillclimb will be held at Mtahleb on Thursday (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and the Concours d’Elegance will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. in Cathedral Square in Mdina.
Practice and races will be held around Mdina on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.
