Your breakfast is served – it’s on your face! Kill two birds with one stone and smear your leafy-green smoothie onto your skin for a facial and food all rolled into one.

Don’t put on your face what you cannot put in your mouth – that is the slogan at Angka Cafe & Green Clinic when it comes to beauty, or rather, psychoenergetic cosmetology, which is not just skin deep.

Think about it – it’s a timesaver too! Your beauty regime is smoothly incorporated into your beauty porridge

Effectively, this means that while you’re eating your breakfast, you’re allowed to miss your mouth and smear it all over your face. In so doing, you’ll be killing two birds with one stone, detoxifying your insides with a leafy-green smoothie and oats, which can easily double as a face mask.

Think about it – it’s a timesaver too! Your beauty regime is smoothly incorporated into your “beauty porridge”.

What’s good for your stomach is good for your skin, says Lidia Oukhaneva, who runs the Marsa rejuvenation centre, which works with raw and healthy foods, taking its beauty products from the kitchen.

A healthy colon affects the face, resulting in clear skin, she insists. Acne can be treated by detoxification – and not necessarily by contraceptive pills for teenagers.

The concept of psychoenergetic cosmetology is based on the eternal cliché that beauty is within.

Lidia is a firm believer that the most effective beauty treatment is being healthy. And the first step to being healthy is taking care of the physical body, the mental state and the emotional condition.

“These three aspects lead to feeling good, looking beautiful and having successful relationships.

“However, many prefer to spend money for the outside, and cover up with foundation, rather than purifying the inside, restoring and healing.

“If you want a beautiful house, you must first get rid of the rubbish. It is pointless buying expensive furniture if your walls, windows and floors are dirty,” Lidia insists.

The same goes for the body. It has to be cleaned out and here’s one way to do that:

Leafy-green smoothie for stomach and skin

1. Blend simple plants like parsley, celery, lettuce and rucola, adding lemon, ginger and spirulina. [Even the leaves of the carrot, which are normally discarded, but actually contain 70 per cent more nutrients that the vegetable itself, can go into the mix.]

“Leafy greens do not contain animal protein, but they have amino acids, which are its building bricks and mean there is no need to waste energy to break it down,” Lidia explains. They are in a different class from other vegetables. “That’s why horses and elephants are so big and strong – because they eat leaves.”

This smoothie cleans, nourishes and restores the “damaged” digestive system – and let’s face it, so many people suffer from constipation.

Acne is connected to an over-acidic body and the leafy-green smoothie also has an alkalising effect.

2. Apart from drinking the smoothie on its own, you can mix it with oat flakes, which are high in fibre. They create a tasty breakfast... and face mask that you can lick off, or simply eat from the bowl.

3. Leave for 20 minutes, while you finish your breakfast; then scoop it off... with the same spoon! The fresh and cool mask should nourish the skin and reduce inflammation, balancing the pH that comes from our polluted environment.
