• When consumers engage someone to do a job, the work must be carried out as agreed and must be of quality.

• Goods supplied during the provision of a service must be of good quality and fit for their purpose.

• Consumers should only engage well-established companies/individuals usually recommended by people they trust.

• Everything agreed on should be put down in writing and signed by both consumer and trader.

• When the work carried out is not according to the agreement or is not carried out as it should, consumers are entitled to legal compensation.
