PSG PROBE: A Paris court yesterday examined alleged suspicious transfers carried out by French club PSG over a decade ago which included former France international Nicolas Anelka and Nigerian Godwin Okpara. PSG and sportswear giant Nike are being investigated for alleged under-the-table payments to players in order to avoid taxes between 2000 and 2005.

PATO: Milan had good news this week when Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato resumed full training following a groin injury which has kept him out of action since the end of August. The injury-prone Pato is not yet ready to return to Serie A, however, as the Rossoneri face city rivals Inter tomorrow.

COLE: Chelsea defender Ashley Cole is risking a FA sanction after strongly criticising the governing body's ruling into the John Terry-Anton Ferdinand racism case. The ruling highlights what it said were 'issues and inconsistencies' in Cole's evidence about what he initially said he heard QPR defender Ferdinand say to Terry and his later statements. On his Twitter account, Cole wrote: 'Hahahahaa, well done #fa I lied did I, #BUNCHOFTWATS.' Cole later deleted his offensive tweet.

BLOKHIN: Former Ukraine national manager Oleg Blokhin, who recently took over local club side Dynamo Kiev has been hospitalised with high blood pressure. Doctors diagnosed the 59-year-old, who just a week ago stepped down as Ukraine coach, as suffering from a hypertensive crisis. They added that Blokhin will undergo treatment in the hospital for at least a week.

AGGER: Liverpool defender Daniel Agger ended speculation over his future by signing a new contract with the Premier League club. Agger had been linked with a move to Man. City during the close-season, was keen to remain at Anfield anyway and he has now agreed to extend his stay with a deal the length of which was not revealed.

BELLAMY: Wales will again be without the services of Craig Bellamy for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Croatia. Bellamy was not included in Chris Coleman’s 21-man squad which was announced yesterday.
