Malta prides itself with a great performance in rugby. One of the local, young, promising players, Joe Paolella, talks to the Zone about what it takes to become a good rugby player and shares his love for the sport.

Joe made his debut for the Malta national team in June, 2012, against Denmark. Saturday 29 September, Joe, along with Malta's national rugby team will play Denmark in Copenhagen. UPDATE: the Maltese national rugby team won 74-12 against Denmark, Malta's greatest result against another European country so far!
Joe plays both Rugby League and Rugby Union. Locally, the clubs he plays for are Malta Origin (Rugby League) and Overseas RFC (Rugby Union).
He ranks his father, his coaches, and the senior players around him – as the mentors in his life.
Malta Rugby League National Team is currently ranked 20th in the world rankings, Malta’s highest ranking for a team sport. Rugby League is largely a new sport in Malta.
