After months of preparation and, spurred on by a sense of renewed enthusiasm, the Malta Handball Association (MHA) management team recently inaugurated the new season.
Louis Borg, the MHA president, announced that a record 39 teams and more than 400 registered players are taking part in this season’s competitions.
Newly-affiliated club HMS Eurosport will figure in the men’s senior cups and second division championship in their debut season.
Clyde Borg Conti, the MHA CEO, said the 2012/13 competitive schedule commences tomorrow with the Eurosport Super Cup finals at the KMS University Sports Hall.
At 2 p.m., Super Cup holders and defending champions La Salle ZT Developments take on MHA cup winners Aloysians Żmerċ in the women’s final.
La Salle BHS, the reigning champions, play against knock-out finalists Aloysians Von Taine in the men’s showdown.
Borg Conti also announced that the MHA have just launched a new website, www.maltahandball.com. He thanked the Kunsill Malti għall-iSport, the Maltese Olympic Committee and the national team technical sponsors, Eurosport, for their constant support.
